I’m not great at writing these things, so please bear with me!
My name is Kim and I live in NW Indiana with my wonderful husband. By day I am a Quality Control Analyst at a financial services company dealing mainly with retirement plans of many kinds – and no, I’m not licensed to give advice, and even if I were, I wouldn’t. Because I don’t know anything. So there.
By night, however, I am a creative maven; I love to make things and making messing generally follows with all my creative attempts. I love baking, crafting of all kinds, making jewelry, sewing, and photography. Am I any good at those things? Meh – I’m ok – definitely not a professional by any means, but others seem to like what I do, and I’m ok with that! I also love all things retro and vintage – antiques, the fashion, style, etc.
I have an Etsy shop – amazingly enough it’s called The Peach Martini; I chose that name because it kind of gives an air of retro appeal – I envision a classy looking dame sipping a martini at a dimly lit hot spot in the late 40′s or 50′s, not a hair out of place with that killer femme fatale style. I chose the peach aspect of it because my husband has bestowed the nickname “Peaches” on me early in our relationship as we share a common love for the fruit. We’re weird, I know. In that shop you’ll find jewelry I make and a few fine art photos for sale.
On this blog you’ll find random musings of a woman who is a mix of Lucille Ball and June Cleaver – domesticated housewife who loves to bake and cook, yet doesn’t quite have it all together. Things to awry, and messes are made. It’s just another day in the life of The Peach Martini.
